The Oregon Culinary Institute is one of the many schools associated with the Pioneer Pacific College, a local university dedicated to a completely unique educational experience.  Focused on teaching the culinary arts like no other institution in the area, the Oregon Culinary Institute focuses primarily on degrees and training in culinary arts, baking and pastry, and restaurant management.  While there are two location, they are located just one block from each other, directly on the light rail line near the busy downtown district of Portland.  In addition to the institute, they also operate a restaurant that works alongside local farmers and dairies.  Staffed and operated by student of the school, it provides students with hands-on, real-world experience while giving customers ones of the best meals they will ever get for the price.  All meals are three courses, including desert.

For those looking to attend culinary school, or even those just wanting to take some extra cooking classes, many of the members of the staff in this culinary school are local chefs and restaurant operators, leading to a highly hands on and experienced approach to the educational process.
