Considered by many to be one of the premiere culinary schools in the Portland area, the Le Cordon Bleu Institute is one of the most nationally recognized hospitality institutes, with over 15 schools spread over 5 continents. Currently, around 20,000 students are studying at a Cordon Bleu school, learning everything from hospitality to culinary arts to baking and chef skills. The location in the Portland area has two main colleges, the culinary arts and the patisserie and baking programs. The school also currently operate the Bleu and Cafe Bleu, the student run eateries attached to the institution. Current Dean of the college is Peter Edris, an acclaimed member of the Bread Bakers Guild who has held several prestigious titles across the United States. Wendy Bennett is currently the second in command at the school, and with over 22 years of experience and a Gold Medal from the Culinary Olympics of 1988, she too has a resume that will impress any prospective student.
